FluoroSyl 880 is a fluoro silane with good durability, lubricity and abrasion resistance. It is an anti-fouling,  triethoxysilane terminated, bifunctional perfluoropolyether (PFPE). 800 acts as a surface modifier and improves gloss. 880 exhibits low refractive index and good resistance to weathering, solvents and abrasion. Imparts outstanding water & oil repellence, friction reduction and antisticking properties. Designed for use in coatings applications. Recommended dosage of 800 is 0.2–5 % w/w. After dilution, it has a shelf life of 2-3 days. On glass the coating provides good anti-reflective and oleophobic properties. 880 is recommended for glass and metal surfaces for fingerprint resistance, stain repellency and easy cleaning. 880 on mesh and filters forms an excellent anti-fouling and anti-fingerprint agent.   FluoroSyl 880 is a good alternative to Fluorolink S10 by Solvay.  Please contact Cytonix for high volume prices.

Clean glass and metal with plasma or corona prior to application of FluoroSyl. Glass or metal can also be cleaned by buffing with cerium oxide (60%) and water (40%) paste and wiping with wet towels. Apply 880 immediately after surface preparation. Spritz and spread-on 880 (at 0.2% concentration in IPA) using a rubber squeegee. Allow 880 to dry for 2 hours or more. Using a soft cloth wipe-off any haze or cloudiness. The glass or metal should now repel water, oil, paint, ice and stains. After the cleaning step, 880 can also be applied by dipping, spraying and vapor deposition.
