FluoroThane-TS [dry kit] is a two-part super-hydrophobic coating kit. When formulated, FluoroThane-TS provides 140 to 165° contact angle performance. The coating can be exposed to water after 4 hours of drying. Surface temperatures should be between 32 and 95°F during spray application. Coverage of 500 ml (X2) of TS is 10 square meters.
Size: 500 ml X 2 (one bottle of base-coat and one bottle of top-coat)
Application methods: Spray or roll
Drying time: 4 hours
Storage temperature: 20-30°C
Shelf life: 3 year
Durability: 1 - 5 years (varies based on environmental conditions and base-paint used)
Thickness: 80-100 micrometers
Description: When rain creates a water-film on antenna, satellite dishes, and sensors it results in reduced or lost signal. On FluoroThane coated dishes rain drops bead-up and roll-off resulting in reduced water film build-up. Water contact angles greater than 140° with a drop roll-off angle of less than 0.7° can be easily achieved.
Application: The temperature of the surface to be sprayed should be between 45°F and 95°F. Keep container at room temperature prior to use. All surfaces need to be dry and free from wax, grease and polishes for good adhesion.
BASE-COAT: First add 364 grams of a good quality outdoor paint to the bottle of BASE-COAT and shake vigorously for 30 seconds. Hold the spray-gun vertically 8-10 inches from the surface. Depress the trigger button fully. Move the spray-gun evenly across the surface covering 6-10 inches per second. Apply half overlapping strokes 3-4 inches apart. Shake the reservoir for a few seconds every 60 seconds. Allow the BASE-COAT to dry for 20 minutes or more before applying the TOP-COAT.
TOP-COAT: To the 500 ml bottle of TOP-COAT add 333 grams of acetone. Shake the bottle of TOP-COAT vigorously for 30 seconds. Hold the spray-gun vertically 8-10 inches from surface. Depress the button fully. Move the spray-gun evenly across the surface covering 6-10 inches per second. Apply half overlapping strokes 3-4 inches apart. Shake the reservoir for a few seconds every 60 seconds. Allow the coating to dry for >4 hours before exposing to rain.
