FluoroSyl 2500 is a perfluoropolyether silane with good durability, lubricity and abrasion resistance. On glass the coating provides good anti-reflective and oleophobic properties. 2500 is recommended for glass and metal surfaces for fingerprint resistance, stain repellency and reduced ice adhesion. 2500 on mesh and filters forms an excellent anti-fouling agent.

Clean glass and metal using oxygen or argon plasma. Alternatively, clean with cerium oxide and water made into a paste using a swirling motion and then rinse with water and dry the substrate. Apply 2500 immediately after surface preparation. Spritz or spread on 2500 using a rubber squeegee. Allow the 2500 to dry for 2 hours or more. Using a soft cloth wipe off any haze or cloudiness. The glass or metal should now better repel water, oil, paint, ice and other materials. After cleaning, 2500 can also be applied by dipping, spraying and vapor deposition.
