MicroCure D-series is a family of hydrophobic and oleophobic conformal coatings. MicroCure has excellent resistance to water-vapor, chemicals, solvents, and abrasion. MicroCure can be applied by dipping, wiping, spraying, syringe-dispensing, etc. When well-cured, contact angles to water greater than 90° can be achieved. MicroCure forms a hard shell around devices that prevents water, water-vapor, and pollutant ingress. MicroCure reduces corrosion. Microcure is UV-light resistant and lasts 3 to 5 years in extreme sunlight.
Please contact Cytonix for custom applications or formulations. Co-polymers with fluorocarbon functionality improve oil and fingerprint repellency. Graphene additives improve water roll-off angles to less than 10° and water contact angles greater than 120°. Formulations with fluorescent tracers are available.
Size: 100 grams (in 125 ml bottle)
Application method: Wipe, brush, spray, or dip. To brush-on or wipe-on a thin layer, 10 drops of MicroCure can be applied to the end of a brush and applied onto the substrate in a crosshatch pattern. Approximately 100 square feet of surface area can be coated with 100 grams of MicroCure. For dipping, immerse in a bath of MicroCure and draw out at a speed of 1 mm per second or less.
Curing: Room temperature 5 hours (or heat for 5 minutes at 60 to 100°C)
Storage and shelf life: 60-80°F (in closed bottle); 1 year
Water contact angle: over 90°
Ethanol, isopropyl alcohol, and acetone resistance: Excellent
NaOH resistant: Yes (25% NaOH for 1 hour)
