FluorAcryl series of glass, metal and plastic coatings

UV curable, hydrophobic, and oleophobic coatings with exceptional abrasion, impact and chemical resistance

FluorAcryl is a family of water, oil and chemicals repellent UV-curable coatings. These are generally transparent, anti-reflective and very tough. FluorAcryl is also used as an additive in other UV-curable inks and coatings to enhance water and oil repellency. Applications for FluorAcryl include:

-- Protective coatings for plastic touchscreens, sensors, etc.
-- Negative photoresist in micro electro mechanical systems (MEMS)
-- Stain repellent additives for UV curable inks and coatings
-- Screen printing inks for diagnostic and microfluidic devices

FluorAcryl 1939A
is a 100% solids perfluoropolyether acrylate additive that is compatible with most polar formulations. Cationic cure of 1939A adds lubricity, repellency and weather resistance. FluorAcryl-1939A was first commercialized in the year 2005. Films and coatings made with FluorAcryl-1939A may be expected to provide long-lasting antifouling and easy cleaning from fingerprints and other contaminants. Compatible with many monomers, oligomers and solvents, the properties of 1939A can be modified to provide increased processability, hardness, abrasion resistance, elasticity and/or adhesion to metals, glass and plastics. When added and cured into other coatings, inks and paints, 1939A provides water, oil, and stain repellency.

FluorAcryl 3298 is a hydrophobic, oleophobic fluoro-acrylate oligomer with excellent resistance to solvents, oils, stains and abrasion. Applications for 3298 include touch screens, electronic devices and micro-fluidic devices. Substrates for 3298 include plastic, metal, glass and ceramic. 3298 can be applied by dip, spray, jet, roll, draw or screen print methods after dilution. When smooth and well-cured, contact angles to mineral oil of greater than 65° and roll-off angles of less than 3° can be achieved. 3298 is stain resistance. Magic marker stains beads up and is removed by an alcohol wipe.

FluorAcryl 4298 is a hydrophobic, oleophobic hybrid perfluorohexyl perfluoropolyether acrylate functional oligomer with excellent resistance to solvents, oils, stains and abrasion. Applications for 4298 include touch screens, electronic devices and micro-fluidic devices. Substrates for 4298 include plastic, metal, glass and ceramic. 4298 can be applied by dip, spray, jet, roll, draw or screen print methods after dilution. When smooth and well-cured, contact angles to mineral oil of greater than 65° and roll-off angles of less than 3° can be achieved. 4298 is stain resistance to tea, coffee, water and iodine tincture (ISO 4211 5 = no stain). Magic marker stains beads up and is removed by an alcohol wipe.

FluorAcryl 6298 is a hydrophobic, oleophobic perfluoropolyether poly-acrylate oligomer with excellent resistance to solvents, oils, stains and abrasion. Applications for 6298 include touch screens, electronic devices and micro-fluidic electrowetting devices. Substrates for 6298 include plastic, metal, glass and ceramic. 6298 can be applied by dip, spray, jet, roll, draw or screen print methods after dilution. When smooth and well-cured, contact angles to mineral oil of greater than 65° and roll-off angles of less than 3° can be achieved. 6298 is stain resistance to tea, coffee, water and iodine tincture (ISO 4211 5 = no stain). Magic marker stains beads up and is removed by an alcohol wipe.

FluorAcryl 7298 is a hydrophobic, oleophobic and stain repellent additive for inks and coatings. Compatible with many monomers, oligomers and solvents, the properties of 7298 can be modified to provide increased processability, hardness, abrasion resistance, elasticity and/or adhesion to metals, glass and plastics. When added and cured into other coatings, inks and paints, 7298 provides water, oil, and stain repellency.
U-series inks are tinted or colored screenprinting inks. U-series inks are based on FluorAcryl, a poly-functional perfluoropolyether (PFPE) oligomer with exceptional hardness, chemical resistance, hydrophobic and oleophobic properties. Thin films cure in less 60 seconds under UV light, have water contact angles of approximately 100°, mineral oil contact angles of approximately 80° and have great solvent resistance. These thixotropic inks are currently used in manufacturing hydrophobic immunological diagnostic microscope slides and microarray plates. Inks are available in a variety of color-tints including gray, white, red, blue and yellow.
MicroCure UV72 is a hydrophobic, oleophobic fluoro-acrylate UV-curable oligomer with excellent resistance to solvents, oils, stains and abrasion. Substrates for UV72 include PCBs, plastic, metal, glass and ceramic. UV72 can be applied by dip, spray, jet, roll, draw or brushing. When smooth and well-cured, contact angles to mineral oil of greater than 65° and roll-off angles of less than 3° can be achieved. MicroCure UV72 is stain resistance. Magic marker stains beads up and is removed by an alcohol wipe.
