CytoCryl 3298 BIO is a hydrophobic, oleophobic UV-curable coating mix with excellent resistance to solvents, oils, stains, and biofluids. Substrates for 3298 include plastic, metal, glass and ceramic. 3298 can be applied by dip, spray, jet, roll, draw, gravure, or screen print methods after dilution. When smooth and well-cured, contact angles to mineral oil of greater than 65° and roll-off angles of less than 3° can be achieved. 3298 is stain resistance.
Size: 100 grams (125 ml container)
Application methods: Screen printing, pad printing, direct or reverse roll, offset gravure, metering rod, slot die, knife over roll, air knife, curtain, immersion, spin, dipping, etc.
Curing: 220-320 nm UV using 3 Joules per square centimeter for 1 minute
Color: Clear
Water contact angle: over 100°
Use: Medical devices, R&D
Solvent resistance: Acetone, ethanol, mineral spirits, etc.
CytoCryl is a coating used in manufacturing hydrophobic and oleophobic metal, glass and plastic devices. The coating is UV light curable, hydrophobic and solvent resistant. 3298 is applied by metered-rods, gravure, and similar techniques. Cure thin films by irradiating with a medium pressure vapor mercury lamp (220-320 nm, if possible under inert nitrogen) to a pencil hardness of greater than #2 at 3 Joules per square centimeter. The resin may be thinned with acetone and butyl-acetate. Clean up with acetone. Store unused material at room temperature in tightly sealed container. After proper curing, masks have contact angles to water over 100° and have great chemical and solvent resistance.
